Do you need advertising or marketing?

Advertising is the practice of crafting a message and delivering it to the selected target audiences. 

Advertising is a sub-set of marketing. It includes such things as traditional advertising like television, radio, and newspaper ads as well as online and social media ads. Advertising is important, however it may not be what you need, or everything that you need. 

Marketing  is the practice of getting and keeping customers. 

UpStream is a marketing agency. Sometimes folks confuse advertising and marketing as the same thing. Marketing often includes advertising along with customer service, public relations, market research, sales, research and development, operations,  and strategic planning.
